Brian's visit
Michael Jackson
Caroline and I watched the 2 hour funeral of MJ last night. It was very emotional - being Italian, I am already an emotional guy, but watching his daughter speak last night brought tears to my eyes. Caroline and I have seen a ton of concerts together, however, the one that I have always wanted to see...the one on top of my list, was Michael Jackson. The only person I know that saw him was my Uncle Richie back probably in the 80's. I remember Uncle Richie saying it was a great concert. If you think of a world icon, Michael, was that. I even remember back in the 80's, my sister, Tracey, had a MJ pin. I hope she can find it since it is a great thing to keep. I also found out (and it didn't surprise me..) that Caroline had a ton of his pins..kind of like the waiters from TGI Fridays? Yeah, like that. I didn't have a zipper jacket...well, maybe one pair of parachute pants...but no glove. Yes, I have a half way decent moon walk too. Anyway, we hate to see him go, but will remember all of the great songs that we "all" know the words to. My favorite MJ songs are the two he did w/ Paul McCartney - Say, Say, Say and That Girl is Mine. What are your favorites? Please post - would love to hear your favs!

Cowboy?
I just came back from a biz trip to OK City and Denver. I have been to both places many times, but I heard from a colleague that if you go to OK City, you have to experience Sheplers. Sheplers is a place where "cowboys" get their gear - cowboy hats, wranglers, cowboy boots, etc. I had to check it out. So, one of my reps and I go in and I head back to the cowboy boot section - it was amazing...they had hundreds of pairs of different skin cowboy boots. While I was checking them out (not buying them, just looking...an ostrich pair to be exact), this is how it went:
Woman salesperson - Can I help you with something cowboy?
BB - hm? me?
Woman salesperson - Yes, you.
BB - Ah, no I am just looking.
Woman salesperson - OK, let me know if you want to try something on.
BB - Thank you, I will.
OK, so picture me in my Banana Republic shirt and shorts w/ my Croc flip flops. Now, picture me putting on a pair of cowboy boots...yes, funny to me too. So, I guess I am more of a "cowboy" than I think....maybe not.... And no, I didn't buy anything.

Go Fish
This has been a game kind of summer so far. Carleigh is really enjoying learning new games, and understanding we play by certain established rules, we take turns, sometimes we win/sometimes we lose, etc.
Mommy: Carleigh, do you have any 1s?
Carleigh: No, Mommy. Go Fish.
Carleigh: Mommy, do you have any 1s?
Mommy: Uh, yes.
Carleigh: Great.
Mommy: Carleigh, you were supposed to give me your 1s when I asked you.
Carleigh: No, I just wanted you to Go Fish. I like that part.
I don't think she 'quite' has the hang of it yet. But we are sure enjoying learning! And the time together is priceless!
